2016 Deferred Members’ Annual Benefit Statements issuedAugust 12, 2016
Each year, Shropshire County Pension Fund meets its statutory requirement to produce benefit statements for former members of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) whose pension benefits are retained in the Scheme until they become payable or are transferred out of the Fund.
The 2016 Deferred Members’ Annual Benefit Statements have been sent out to deferred members home addresses this week. Deferred members can also view their benefits via the Fund’s secure password-protected online website, My Pension Online. A newsletter was also sent with the statement which can be viewed here.
Members who left the LGPS with a deferred pension from 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016 will receive a letter of their deferred pension details at a later date. Further information can be viewed by clicking here.
The Deferred Members’ Annual Benefit Statements display the value of pension benefits when the member left the LGPS and the current value including any Pension Increase which is awarded each April.
These statements have been produced using information supplied to Shropshire County Pension Fund by LGPS employers and cannot be guaranteed as accurate.
To help the environment and reduce the amount of paper we use, the Fund are looking into going digital in the way in which we communicate with you about your pension, with the aim of going paperless in the near future.
This means the majority of our communication with you will be by electronic methods – through this website, e-mail and My Pension Online (the online self-service facility where you can view your pension details).
If you don’t have online access, you will still be able to opt to receive paper copies of the information we provide.
