If so, then an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pensions Board as a Scheme Member Representative!
What is the Pensions Board?
The role of the local Pensions Board is to assist the Fund to secure compliance with the LGPS Regulations, and help to ensure efficient governance and administration of the LGPS. The Board meets at least twice a year and meetings are open to the public. The agendas and minutes of the previous Pensions Board meetings can be found on the Shropshire Council website.
What does the role of scheme member representative involve?
To be a Scheme Member Representative you need to be a member of the Shropshire County Pension Fund and have the capacity to represent other scheme members of the Fund.
The successful applicant will join current Pensions Board members:
- Mike Morris – Scheme Member Representative and Pensions Board Chair (retired member)
- Liz Furey – Employer Representative (Harper Adams)
- Phillip Ingle – Employer Representative (Housing Plus Group, part of Severnside Housing)
How to apply?
If you wish to apply for the position, then a completed application form must be submitted to the Pensions Team by Monday 21st May 2018. The application form can be obtained from the Pension Fund website, or can be posted to your home address at your request by phoning 01743 252130.
The Person Specification and the Terms of Reference can also be found on the Fund’s website. These documents should be referred to when completing the application form, as capacity to meet the requirements outlined in these documents will form part of the selection criteria.
Once completed, the form should be emailed to email@example.com, or posted to the following address; Pension Services, The Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, SY2 6ND.
